Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program Information and Help
By
The Foreclosure Mediation Program was established as a result of the Assembly Bill 149, passed during the 2009 session of the Nevada Legislature.
This law establishes a Foreclosure Mediation Program for owner-occupied residential properties that are subject to foreclosure notices – formally known as a Notice of Default and Election to Sell – filed on or after July 1, 2009.
Here are two websites and informational brochures outlining the details of the foreclosure mediation program:
- Foreclosure Mediation information from the Nevada Supreme Court website:
- Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada – Visit this site for information on Free Foreclosure Mediation classes.

Thanks for putting this out there. I hope this program will help expedite Las Vegas homeowners frustrations to some kind of conclusion. Anyone who has tried to reach the lender over the last year for a modification knows what a pain it is to get anyone competent on the phone. This will give them a chance to sit down, face to face , with a person with the authority to make changes. Not all homeowners are realistic on what the mortgage company can do. So hopefully the mediator will help, in the allotted 4 hours, to come to a conclusion. Half of the battle of being in this position, is being in limbo of not knowing if your staying or going. Once you know, then it is easier to move on.
